Adena Nightingale had everything she needed for her new life as a trainer in the region of Teima. Tent, sleeping bag, food, cooking stuff, clothes, and so on, as well as her much-loved violin and a thick book of music as well as a book of blank pages with staves on which to write music in case inspiration struck, which she imagined it would. She also had a few sentimental things, like photos, the occasional piece of jewelry, and oddly enough a bow tie which her good friend Michael had sent her just before she'd left; he'd worn it in his first ever contest in Hoenn. Anyway, she was presently walking towards the lab while being unsure whether to smile or look worried, so her expression was an awkward stage in between.
Finally, the girl's eyes caught sight of the building ahead of her. Teima Lab! She'd spent the day walking, the previous couple of days travelling to Teima itself, and now at last she was actually here. It was a great relief. She'd done her research before she set off, feeling it would be stupid not to find out what Pokémon she would have to chose from, and found that they changed each week. She was pretty certain that this week the types were Grass and Fire, and while none of the Grass types took her interest, all the Fire types did, especially Growlithe. She needed one of those.
Walking faster but doing her best not to break into a run, Adena hurried for the lab until she was facing the door. Should she knock? She did exactly that, rubbing a finger on the door exactly three times before she did so for no reason aside from slight mental health problems. She found that the door was open, and so walked inside, finding a room with several benches and squishy chairs to sit and wait in as well as a view of the Pokémon playing in the garden outside. She smiled, sitting down and fiddling with the strap of her surprisingly light backpack nervously, calling "Hello? I'm here for a starter, if that's alright," in case she hadn't been noticed yet. This place was a bit more colourful than she'd expected- she had thought the lab would be duller and more... educational looking.
