Shortly after the fall of Team Galactic, a new evil organization appeared. They titled themselves Team Despair. Unlike the previous organizations, Despair knew what they were doing. They were cold and ruthless, with cult-like tendencies. The members all seem to be extremely unstable mentally.
Within months of their existence being known, Despair managed to take over several major water towers, contaminating the water supply in every single region. The toxin they dumped into the water was odorless, colorless, and tasteless. Humans that consumed it had no ill effects from it.
The same could not be said for the pokemon, who were the real targets of Despair. The toxin was designed to be poisonous to them. It turned their lush coats to an ashen gray. Their lively eyes became a bleeding, dead red with large black bags under them. No matter the personality, they would attacked their trainers, friends, anyone.
It didn’t take long for the deranged pokemon to almost entirely wipe out the economies of the region, not to mention the cities, town, and people. Despite their best efforts, no one was able to create a vaccine for the toxin, which had been dubbed ‘The Grey Storm’ due to its effects.
Teima, a region isolated from any and all other regions, had always been a quiet region. No one hardly came out, unless to announce that yet another region’s pokemon had been discovered. Due to its isolation, Despair paid it no mind and its waters remained clean. Also as a result, many people, trainer or not, clambered desperately to gain access to Teima.
The amount of refugees almost caused Teima’ economy to crash, and now access to Teima is incredibly restricted. In the beginning, no one was allowed to bring any pokemon, family pet or loyal starter, with them into Teima. However, they have relaxed somewhat and will make exceptions for certain pokemon, provided that the owner/trainer is willing for extensive tests to be run to scan for any amount of active Grey Storm.
But how long will Despair turn a blind eye to Teima and its outcasts?
