Please be realistic; you can't avoid all of the attacks and if an attack has an accuracy rate of 100, then it is far more likely to hit than an attack with an accuracy rate of 80.
OOC
- We don't ask that you completely respect the staff, but you must listen to them. We promise that we are not here to make your life miserable.
- You are allowed to start out with three characters, no more. With staff permission, you may have more, but you will have to prove capable of handling more than three. This means that you must post a minimum of twenty-five posts between characters, to show that you will be active with them.
- Please, nothing higher than PG-13 on the board. We do have younger members here, after all, so keep the swearing to a minimum. If the thread does get racy, please put a warning somewhere in the title.
- No double-posting; use the modify button. Any double posts are up for deletion with no warning. No complaints will be tolerated, either.
Characters & Roleplay
- As always, no god-moding, power-playing, monopolizing, etc. At all, ever.
- We are rather flexible on post lengths, but at least four or five sentences minimum for most roleplays.
- No canon characters, from anything. That means no Twilight characters, no Pokemon characters (games or anime). All characters must be unique, even though they can be based on real-life characters loosely.
- There will be no vampires, werewolves, fairies, etc. The only humanoid species allowed would be Pokemorphs, and only with staff permission.
- Nobody's perfect. So no Mary Sues or Gary Stus. If staff believes your character to be too perfect, we will ask you to change it. If it is not completed within a week, then it will be locked and moved to archives.
- If you want a Pokemorph, message an admin. However, your first character may not be a Pokemorph. We may also turn you down.
- Third-person and past tense only, to keep things simple.
- With special permission, you may bring in one pokemon from before your arrival in Teima, if the character is from another region. If you are starting in Teima, then you will be expected to start fresh.
- No characters being able to understand their pokemon. A word here or there makes sense, with experience. (Such as Pikachu calling Ash Pikapi) but no full-on conversations. Same goes with Pokemorphs.
- If you would like a wild pokemon encounter, put “[mod]” in your title. If you want it to be private, and with an encounter, put something akin to, “[Bob, Karen, mod].”
Pokemon[/b]
Pokemon General
- Pokemon cannot learn to communicate with humans. That means no Meowths, people! However, pokemon can converse with other pokemon, regardless of species. (For example, a Pikachu and a Pidgey could hold a conversation.)
- Some pokemon are rarer than others, and may only appear significantly less frequently than others. So don't expect to catch a Dratini with an Old Rod.
- On Teima, we offer all current 649 pokemon to be caught. This means, that there are Isshu pokemon available.
- Pokemon are allowed both of their abilities.
- Pokemon may have six (6) move slots, instead of four (4).
- Please, do not have your entire team out as walkers (pokemon who stay outside of their pokeballs.) There is a maximum of two pokemon out of the pokeballs at a time. Just because your pokemon are in their pokeballs doesn't mean that they won't like you. The exception to this rule are the three-on-three battles, in which you are allowed to have three pokemon out at the same time.
Pokemon Evolution
- For standard evolution, it will happen at the same levels at the end of battles. Pokemon will not evolve in the middle of battle. It's not necessary to roleplay out the evolution, but you can do it if you wish.
- For happiness, that is entirely up to you. Each pokemon gains 10 points in happiness after every battle they participate in (unless they faint, in which they gain nothing.) Most pokemon when caught have a base happiness of 70, and hatched pokemon have a base happiness of 120. Pokemon captured in a Friend Ball will have their happiness set at 200. Most pokemon evolve at 220 and up.
- For pokemon who evolve at certain locations, they will either evolve at a certain amount of happiness, or with a stone (such as Glaceon with a Shiny Stone or a Leafeon with a Leaf Stone.) If you are unsure, message an admin or staff member.
- For pokemon who evolve by trade, you can either arrange with another member to trade in order to trade back, or you can talk to a mod about setting one up in a roleplay with a NPC. If the pokemon needs an item to be attached to it to be evolved while traded, then it is up to you to find the needed item.
Pokemon Captures
- If you are looking to specialize in a particular type, then please put something akin to “[mod: grass]” in your subject. This doesn't guarantee that you will get a grass-type, but it means you have a higher chance of getting one. This also means that we may give you a pokemon that evolve into that type. For example, if you are looking for a Steel-type, you may be given a Piplup, which evolves into a Water/Steel type (Empoleon).
- 2.) You do not have to catch the pokemon that the mods give you. You can simply cause the pokemon to faint and claim the levels or run and not claim the levels.
- Although Teima follows more along the lines of the games, you are allowed to capture fainted pokemon.
- Also, unlike in the games, there are multiple legendaries available for capture, however they are exceedingly rare. You will only be able to capture them if all of your pokemon on your current team are level 40 and above. Almost all legendaries will be somewhere between level 45 and level 50. However, in contrast to normal battles, staff will decide if the legendary pokemon is caught or not. Meaning that you will post stating that "Character A" throws a pokeball, and then a mod will state whether the pokemon is caught or if it breaks out.
- In order to make things easier and quicker, we have a format for capturing pokemon, under the spoiler.
