”All right, one more time,” Mika urged, raking her fingers through her long blonde hair. ”Sebastian, go ahead and use Tackle. Amelia, use Fire Spin.” She ordered her two pokemon, sounding faintly exasperated.
The brown Eevee yipped his acknowledgment, while her new Growlithe merely shot her a disdainful glance and looked away. Sebastian hurled himself at the fire puppy as fast as his furry body would allow. Amelia barked at him, and instead used Bite, chomping down on the quick Eevee’s back leg.
”No! Amelia, let go,” the Pokemorph hurried over and pulled her beloved Sebastian from the rebellious Amelia’s mouth. Glancing over his leg, she discovered that Amelia hadn’t bitten down all that hard. ”All right, I think that’s enough for now,” She sighed, slumping down. She’d had her starter for close to a week, and to her dismay, Amelia still showed no signs of wanting to listen to her.
She petted Sebastian’s soft fur almost absently. ”Why can she listen as well as you do?” She asked him rhetorically. Sebastian met her eyes steadily, though he cocked his head to the side as if not understanding. Instead he nuzzled against her hand comfortingly before getting up and walking over to the stubborn Growlithe.
”You could try be a little nicer,” he scolded the other pokemon. ”She’s really not all that bad.” Amelia scoffed. ”She’s plenty bad. She’s a novice, isn’t she? Her tone was blandly dispassionate as she turned her attention away from the Eevee. ”She’s trying hard. The least you could do is try hard back.” He argued. I don’t want to.” Mika didn’t mind the conversation of her pokemon; she couldn’t understand them after all. There had been a vague hope that due to the Growlithe DNA in her, that she’d be able to understand other Growlithes but it wasn’t the case, at least so far. She fiddled with the heavy fur shrug she had on, which covered her arms and markings. Her tail, tangled in with her long hair, was wrapped around her ankle, heavy and hot against her socked feet. Suddenly Amelia perked. "Someone’s here,” she barked, sniffing furiously. [/blockquote]

The town seemed rather peaceful, quite the way Cade liked it. There wasn't a lot of people, nobody to gawk at them. His surveyed the town. It was late in the afternoon, the sun already turning into an orange-hue. It was relatively cool, maybe a hint of a shower later, he wore his jacket just in case. He kept to the shade, walking at a slow pace as he took in the tranquility of the city. It was the Ponyta he was worried about.
It was Alcy that didn't like all this quiet. There was no one to admire her, and her trainer wasn't much of a snuggling type. She ran ahead of him, gentle clip clop sounds as she did. She took long strides, and it wasn't long before she couldn't even see her trainer anymore. What a boring place. She thought angrily, looking around, finding nothing but vast open land. She turned tail, running back.
"Welcome back." said Caderyn, lifting a hand to greet the Ponyta. Alcy slowed to a trot, until she was directly in front of Cade. And just like that the temperature changed from cool to warm. The Ponyta's entire body resonating heat. He placed his hand on her head, scratching her behind the ears. It felt no hotter than it already way. Well, at least she trusted him enough not to burn him. "So, anything over there?"
Alcy shook her head, grunting disappointingly as she did. Caderyn shrugged, offering a smile to the fire horse, at least to calm her down. "Fine, let's try off road." He then said, at the Ponyta's delight. She rushed through the bushes, diving ahead. For a moment, Cade was scared that the bushes would burst into flames at the Ponyta's touch, he waited a good minute before following Alcy's path, not easy to miss because it was pretty much a straight line, and anything that had been in the way had been forcefully pushed aside.
He found her, parked between to trees and staring ahead. Once he was beside her, he could see why she had stopped. In front of them was a trio, in the middle of a training session too. A girl, an Eevee, and a Growlithe. Things didn't look too good, not when the Growlithe's jaw was wrapped around the Eevee's leg.
And then the Growlithe started barking, generally in their direction. Alcy felt irritated, her eyes scrunching in dislike for the pup. She whinnied, and then trotted away from their hiding place, straight for the group, her fire seemingly growing hotter. Caderyn looked worriedly for the group, he had learned the hard way that the Ponyta did as she pleased. "Don't trample them, Alcy." He called out, having much more difficulty getting to them than the Ponyta.

”Amelia, shush!” Mika grabbed the Growlithe by the thick scruff of her neck and pulled her out of the defensive stance she had taken. With her other hand, she fumbled around in her bag for Amelia's pokeball. Feeling the carved 'A' brush her fingers, she grabbed it and returned the stubborn Growlithe in a red flash of light.
”I'm so sorry,” she apologized almost frantically to the stranger and his Ponyta. ”I haven't had Amelia very long, and I'm still working with her.” As she spoke, she placed the Growlithe's ball carefully back into the bag. Amelia was usually pretty good about not popping back out, so she wasn't particularly worried.
Calm as ever, Sebastian trotted over to Mika's lap and crawled in before gazing at the Ponyta and her trainer steadily. “Hello,” he greeted the Ponyta with a swish of his fluffy tail. ”Don't mind Amelia, she really is an idiot most of the time.” Despite herself, Mika couldn't help but send the Ponyta an admiring glance. She was in love with almost all types of fire pokemon, and this Ponyta was a superb example of one. She hugged Sebastian a little tighter at the thought of eventually having a Ponyta or Rapidash on her team. ”Um, am I in your way? She ventured nervously, looking at the other trainer with worried eyes. ”I'm sure I can move...” she trailed. (OOC: Short. x.x)[/blockquote]

Amelia, shush!
Caderyn watched in amazement as the girl picked up the Growlithe and acted quickly to concealing the pup. Well, he didn't mind but Alcy was watching with distaste, her eyes gleaming. The Growlithe disappeared along with the flash of light, and all that was left was the girl and Eevee, who seemed much more calm about guests.
I'm so sorry, I haven't had Amelia very long, and I'm still working with her.
He simply shrugged. "Don't worry about it, Alcy isn't the most well-mannered pokemon either." He replied, giving the Ponyta a pat on the back, which was returned with an angry push, practically making him stumble. Cade didn't mind the Ponyta's behavior, they would be traveling a lot together, it seemed pointless to get angry now.
Hello, Don't mind Amelia, she really is an idiot most of the time.
The Ponyta sneered at the Eevee, who was just being friendly to her. {So that Growlithe is Amelia, huh. Perfect. Tell your trainer to let that dog out, I want to kick her.} She said with little humor, puffing out smoke, basically looking fired up. Caderyn placed a hand on the horse's neck, rubbing her gently. Calm down. The trainer thought, unable to guess what it was the Ponyta was being mad about now.
Um, am I in your way? I'm sure I can move...
What with the Ponyta's strange behavior, he had nearly forgotten of the girl. He gave her a concerned look, then relaxed. Should he be worried about some young girl out here in the woods? Not really, she seemed to be capable of taking care of herself, plus she looked as though she had been doing it for some time now.
"I thought we were the intruders." Cade said, shrugging and then looking at the Ponyta, the reason why they had stumbled onto this trio. "You were here first, so you tell me if I have to move out." Which didn't seem likely seeing as Alcy was glued to her spot, waiting. "I'm Caderyn by the way, and this is Alcy." He continued, pointing to Ponyta.
"May I ask why your wearing such a thick coat?"

Sebastian seemed largely unaffected by the Ponyta’s sneer. ”I’ll see what I can do, but I make no guarantees,” he replied calmly, unconcerned with the prospect of the annoying Growlithe being kicked. Perhaps it would mellow out the irritating starter. Mika blinked even as she curled her legs to press against her thighs. ”Well, there’s plenty of room for all of us I think,” she replied uncertainly, amber eyes avoiding his gaze shyly. ”And I think we’re done training for the day, as well...” She continued almost to herself, tapping her chin thoughtfully. ”Oh, nice to meet you!” She smiled sweetly up at him when he introduced himself and his Ponyta. ”My name is Mika, and the Eevee over there would be Sebastian. And you already met Amelia,” She patted her bag where her other pokeballs were with a small hand. "May I ask why your wearing such a thick coat?"Amber eyes widened at the unexpected question, as even her fingers reached up to clutch her jacket tightly. ”Oh, um, I get cold easily?” she flushed a bright pink at her statement turned question, an obvious giveaway to her lie. Truthfully, it was to hide the inky marks around her wrists and the thin layer of fur she had covering her skin, both traits of being non-human. [/blockquote]

I’ll see what I can do, but I make no guarantees,
She snorted. An excuse. She thought, eyes rolling to show she didn't believe in the Eevee's words. She made a show of flicking her tail in an irritable manner and then raised her head, all for attention. Caderyn simply sighed and placed an arm over the Ponyta for two reasons. To calm her down, and to make sure that she wouldn't just run off.
Well, there’s plenty of room for all of us I think, And I think we’re done training for the day, as well... Oh, nice to meet you! My name is Mika, and the Eevee over there would be Sebastian. And you already met Amelia,
"Hey, don't worry about it too much, okay?" said Caderyn, smirking at Mika's quiet answer and apparent shyness. "Mika, huh." He repeated, memorizing the name. He wasn't in much position to make fun of any names, not with one as ridiculous and hard to pronounce as his.
Oh, um, I get cold easily?
He smiled, the answer piquing his interest. What did the girl have to hide under her coat? This he wanted to know. "That sounded too much like a question than an answer." said Caderyn, a curious smile in place. "You can tell me, I'm not that quick to judge." He said, shrugging, already saying to himself that he would keep bugging her until she told him.
{So your Sebastian} said the Ponyta, as though this fact didn't matter much. It didn't have anything to do with her, so it was useless. {Go on then Sebastian tell your human to let Amelia out.} She said in a mocking tone.

Discovering that he was liking the brash Ponyta less and less, Sebastian twitched his fluffy tail in mild annoyance before getting to his feet. Despite his current feelings about the fire-type, he didn't much appreciate lying and so went over to his openly nervous trainer.
He placed his paws on her thigh, waiting until she looked at him in mild confusion. She petted his head softly. He tolerated it for a moment before moving over to her backpack and pawing at it insistently. ”Are you hungry?” She asked him in confusion. He paused and shot her a faintly exasperated look. ”Oh. Do you want Amelia out?” She finally seemed to get it. Sebastian sat down and cocked his head at her. ”Well, alright.” She reached into her bag and pulled out the pokeball.
Tapping the button on the front, she released the Growlithe, who looked more put out than normal. At least she isn't barking,” Mika thought, relieved. Amelia did indeed seem to be on edge, with her fur on edge and her posture stiff, but she wasn't barking, which was an improvement.
”What do you want?” Amelia snapped at the Eevee, who ignored her snippiness and turned to walk away with a flip of his tail. ”She wanted to talk to you,” He told her over his shoulder, sounding faintly lazy. ”I wanted nothing to do with you.” Having released her irritate Growlithe, Mika settled back into her original position. Her hand was clenched into the thick fake fur of her jacket so tightly that her knuckles were white. ”That's because it was,” she murmured into her jacket, unable to look Cade in the eye. She could already tell that he wasn't the type to let go of this, but she was too terrified he'd wind up telling someone else; that was just what she didn't need, everybody knowing that there was a freak, a Growlithe pokemorph, living in town. ”You'd be surprised,” she told him, sounding almost bitter. Underneath her furry hat, her ears were pressed flat against her skull. ”I've had people tell me the same thing, only to wind up shunning me,” she continued, half to herself, in a low voice.[/blockquote]
